The U.S. Virgin Islands is considered a U.S. territory; therefore, you are not required to have a passport to enter the Virgin Islands from the United States or Puerto Rico. In other words, it’s just like traveling from state to state. If you are over the age of 18, you will need a government issued ID, an unexpired driver’s license, and a state issued photo ID to prove your identity.
However, if you want to visit any islands outside the U.S. Virgin Islands, you must have a passport to re-enter the U.S. Virgin Islands.
